You raise some very interesting points. Some people object when the author goes off topic so to speak. But I feel a blog should reflect the personality of the writer, not the subject. If the subject is all there is, it becomes impersonal, for me. Whatever we do with our lives, we are human beings, first and foremost.

I personally advise against setting up more than one blog. It will divide your time and efforts. Better perhaps, to have subdomains for different subjects. In my own case, the blog is reviews, mostly music and guitars, which I worked in, and know best. I can write and contribute more on that for sure, but if I find interesting resources, and tips, I like to post those also.

Later, my root domain page will be purely technology. I still think, if you write quality articles, you will suceed eventually. Best of luck. Mark.

honestly, i do not prefer the idea of having several blogs. this is my personal point of view.

for myself, i started off writing blog to share things & experienced with friends/family/colleagues. the main focus was about travel. however, i'm not a full time traveler hence it's impossible for me to always write about that.

besides, my blog also serves as the medium to keep myself updated to my friends, without the need to actually meet up or call each other. meaning that, when they read my blog, they know how am i getting on, what i've recently done and know me better etc.

of course, we do write about lotsa things. some personal life & thoughts, some entertainment, some for knowledge sharing etc etc. yet, they can be distinguished easily using labels or tags. moreover, sometimes they seem to be "crossover", you might have a problem to decide which blog to put it to.

in short, i still stick to the idea of "only 1 blog".
