Some SEO Tweaks on 8 Mar 2008
March 8, 2008
I've made a few more changes. This times it's especially for SEO purpose.
Blog Title
I change my blog name from 'Webmaster Binh Nguyen's Blog | Binh.name' to 'SEO Web Designer Binh Nguyen'.This title more accurately describes my position. Firstly 'webmaster' doesn't need to have strong programming skills. Secondly, although I'm more a web developer (more coding) than a web designer (more designing) but people don't use the term web developer as often as web designer.
Another point to be noticed is that I practice more SEO design than Graphic design. That's why now I choose SEO Web Designer.

This Blog is Dressing Up
March 5, 2008
WARNING: SITE MAINTENANCE IS IN PROGRESS! I have been absent from posting for few days again. This period I've been working hard on a new temporary theme. This theme is mainly reversed engineered from the Revolution Tech theme, so don't be surprise if most of the layout look similar to that.
Testing
If you see strange screen clutter, misplaced elements, strange/wrong category/tag names, strange format, PLEASE DON'T PANIC. Check back a day later, if the problems still occur please kindly send me an email, or simply leave a comment here.

The Future of Binh dot Name
January 23, 2008
I've been busy these few days and haven't post as many useful posts as I should. My apologies for that. I would like to restate a few reasons here and I hope to receive your suggestions. The reasons are:
- This blog is being redesigned.
- New sub domains or domains are coming up.
- The URL structure is not finalized.
If you are kind-hearted, knowledgeable and give me suggestions, I will have rewards for you too. Don't worry, the minimum I could give you are some good keyword back links to your site from my PR3 blog. I'm not rich now so my pocket money is limited. I can make some nice award if what you give change my life.

Major Issues With common Blog Layout
November 21, 2007

Yesterday I checked my blog and was too surprise about something... the actual weight in term of Kilobytes. By saying that I mean, our blogs are not just heavy, they are too heavy.
Shocking Findings
I checked my own blog and here are some shocking results:
- Over 512KB for the home page and
- Over 380KB for single post.
Currently most blogs have too heavy home page, extra heavy category pages, and heavy single post page. A very good example is John Chow dot Com. His home page cost over 1MB of disk-space and bandwidth.

Top 10 Blog URL Considerations
November 12, 2007
It's a common for people to have dilemma during a decision making time. I'm no exception. My blog is up for a week now and I had spent a long time on deciding a few things.
I am asking myself "what is the best URL structure?" I want to achieve this URL structure for my "Binh dot Name" and all the following websites I create. The matter is that, I already spent a month or so thinking about this without getting the final decision. Along with the CMS choice, this URL thing delayed me from publishing my blog for too long until I finally fed up of waiting and decide to "Just do it".
