The HK one is unfortunately a Premium VPN. So indeed StrongVPN is one of the most expensive VPN solution ever found.

If you're looking for US IP, I would give Witopia a try, www.witopia.net. they provide their own secure DNS as well which does help speed in China as you said. strongvpn has hong kong server for quick speed to Chinese websites so I can see advantage there, but doesn't help much for US content.
