My full name is Binh Thanh Nguyen. Now I am thinking of naming my self "Binh dot Name". But you can forget about all that and call me by the shortest name possible: Binh.
My name in Vietnamese has a special meaning associated with it (just like any other Vietnamese names). My given name "Thanh Bình" means peace and peaceful. Unfortunately for me, converting my name into English becomes "Binh Thanh" and... not so meaningful. When stands alone the word Bình in Vietnamese has very close meaning (vase) with bin in English.
My family name is Nguyễn, a royal family name back in the 1800s. This surname since then has became the most popular surname in Vietnamese.
The correct pronunciation for Binh is very similar to "Bing", replace the "h" with the "g" and you will get it. But please, don't replace the "b" with "p", my name is not "ping". If you like me, and can't pronounce Bing, please kindly call me "Bean" for Mr. Bean, but not "bin" for "rubbish bin"
