Thanks to Simon on his recent 35 RSS Feed Sites To Promote Your Site. I also want to contribute some of my findings. I'm listing here the 74 blog pinging services. I have added those ping URLs into my WordPress Update Services.

Wow, that's a long list. So, what is the benefit from getting it on my blog?
Yes, there is a benefit from reading here, because I got a warning for you. The list is very long and, suppose to be attractive. However, I found out that some services have, or may have the following issues associated with it:
- Not working anymore
- Different language than yours
- Requires sign up
- Requires backlink prior approval
- Requires manual approval
What's Next?
Unfortunately I haven't got the time to go through all of them to check. So for now, I just leave the list as it is, and will post update as I check them up.
Beside, it's my Birthday coming, so I should be preparing for it... wow so many things undone.

Did the pinging have any effect on traffic and pr?
The first effect I notice is the inclusion of my blog to the search engine. I checked Google Blog Search and every time I would find my new post listed on there right after I publish it.

that I'm starting to submit to search engines and do some pinging.
I have pinged quite a few of these sites with my blogs and have seen an increase in the traffic to my blogs. I have also recently started using BlogBuzzer.com to automatically submit my blogs to these sites.
Most of the ping sites that i tried are faulty. Your efforts to compile all these though is just great of you, thanks.
I'll try them all to find the ones that work.

How to use this service... ping... i know we can use service like pingomatic bla bla.. but how to this manually?
I recommend using Feed Shark which pings a lot these services.
Plus, they automatically check the reliability of these services for free.
